This is important!

Extremism and terrorism have become one of the pressing problems of our time.

Extremism threatens the unity of society and the integrity of the state.

Extremism means adherence to radical views and extreme methods of their implementation.

Extremism is always characterized by such features as violence or the threat of its use, fanaticism, obsession with defending one's own principles, inability to compromise. In its dangerous practices, extremism is often linked to terrorism.

Terrorism is an extreme manifestation of extremism. Terrorism is an activity aimed at achieving political goals through particularly cruel, frightening forms and methods of violence. It was widely used in the history of political struggle under religious banners, sometimes acquiring the character of genocide.

Especially often, extremism has turned to terror as a means to achieve its goals in recent decades.

The main goal of extremist groups operating in Central Asia is to create a theocratic state - Caliphate. They do not recognize the current secular regimes and they are in favour of changing the state structure.

The spread of radical ideas is facilitated by the disappointment of part of the population in the official ideology, socio-economic difficulties, high unemployment, when the only alternative giving hope is ideology. Favorable conditions for the spread of extremism and terrorism are emerging

Often ideologists of extremism form in the minds of their followers the image of the enemy - it can be the leaders of the state, representatives of other nationalities and concessions. Special intolerance manifests itself to co-religionists who do not share fanaticism and radical views. Therefore, the emphasis is on force methods of struggle, and dialogue as a method of solving problems is rejected.

How can we resist extremism?

The society and the state must fight extremism. Methods of this struggle are different.

The fight against extremism includes many measures, among which are the following:

  • prohibition of propaganda of national and religious hatred and enmity;
  • prohibition of the establishment and activities of public and religious associations that incite social and racial, ethnic and religious strife;
  • prohibition of the establishment and activities of organizations seeking to forcibly change the foundations of the constitutional system and violation of the integrity of the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan, undermining the security of the state, creating illegal armed groups.

The victims of questionable cults are from all walks of life, including wealthy and highly educated people. Easy money for missionaries can be those who are experiencing life's problems and difficulties.

They do not lead to spiritual purification and communion with the eternal, manipulating the person for selfish and even criminal purposes. Joining a cult can lead to the fact that your property will be in the hands of all sorts of "teachers", gurus, and you will lose family and friends.

In most States, laws prohibit the activities of organizations that cause damage to mental and physical health, property of citizens, destroying spiritual and moral values.

The leaders of pseudo-religions use the problems of the individual for their own selfish purposes. Trying to break free from the shackles of the past, the person falls into new shackles.

Of course, a lot depends on each of us. It is necessary to understand that the one who knows easy recipes from all problems and diseases, most likely deceives. The real religion does not promise deliverance from all woes, it only gives the person spiritual reference points within which he has to make difficult decisions.

Dear students of medical College!

* Do not engage in dialogue with persons who comes to you on the street and offer to attend a meeting of a religious organization.

* Do not attempt to defend your religious beliefs at the first meeting with believers or preachers of any religious organization.

  • If you decide to ask questions about the structure of a religious organization, do so without aggression or hidden irony.
  • If you are offered a leaflet, brochure, magazine of religious orientation, thank and politely refuse.

* Before you decide to attend a religious meeting, try to learn about it as much as possible, consult with friends, relatives, just with close people.

* When attending a meeting of a religious organization, remember that the purpose of missionary preachers is to persuade you to accept their teaching. Your goal is to understand and not get into the network of a destructive religious organization.

* Do not attend religious meetings alone, invite a relative or friend.

  • Under no circumstances should you be separated during religious activities, warn the preacher about it. If leaders insist that meeting it is better to leave.
  • To preserve mental and physical health, consider whether to hurt relatives and friends joining the ranks of religious associations of non-traditional direction.

* Do not try to find a purpose in life, success and peace in the ranks of religious organizations, missions, churches of non-traditional direction.

* Choice: to believe or not to believe-yours, and only yours, so before you make a decision - think about it? A deliberate, balanced and correct decision will save you not only mental health, but maybe life.

* preaching a religious doctrine different from the traditional religion and teachings professed by members of other sects;

* harsh criticism of other religions and the promise of "God's punishment" for their followers;

* the presence of a charismatic leader who is a preacher and chief administrator of a destructive religious organization;

* the existence of a circle of persons who are particularly close to the leader of a destructive religious organization and hold senior positions in it;

* active missionary work, including street conversations, distribution of leaflets, broadcast of programs in the media;

* holding mass events in order to attract potential believers;

  • increased focus on minors in destructive religious organizations;
  • environment of care;

* fragmentation of a destructive religious organization into groups in the following areas;

  • the use of psycho;
  • implementation of special religious education for new members of the organization;
  • involvement of members with unstable mentality or physical defects for a public demonstration of pseudo-religious "miracles»;

* changing the physical appearance of members, giving them religious names and spiritual titles, the requirement to wear religious clothing and accessories;

  • adherence to strict religious discipline;

* charity and guardianship, for involvement in the organization of persons not socially protected;

* the requirement to donate money, the so-called "tithing»;

* frequent and free distribution of literature;

* application of modern methods of conducting religious meetings to attract young people;

* the requirement of free work at the enterprises of the organization, the collection of alms and the sale of religious literature;

* increased attention to education, establishment of own educational centers;

* free transfer of literature to libraries, cultural and educational institutions;

* the organization has special units to carry out propaganda, security and other tasks;

* establishment of children's and youth institutions, rehabilitation centres, summer associations and camps to recruit believers.

Consequences of staying in  a religious destructive organization.

After leaving the cult, even with a favorable environment in the family and the help of a specialist psychologist, a person feels like a stranger in a social environment. In this case, the typical problems of such a person are:

  • Extreme violation of identity
  • Depressions

* Problems with dependency in decision making

* Loss of will and control over your life;

* Disorders associated with post-traumatic stress disorder;

* Slow psychological development;

* Loss of spontaneity( spontaneity, ease), sense of humor;

* Psychological deterioration, including hallucinations, panic attacks and anxiety, disorientation, paranoia, splitting personality;

* Inability to form close friendships outside the cult;

* Sleep disorders, nightmares;

After leaving the destructive religious organization, the former adept is in a dissociating state (a state that returns back to the organization).

Providing comprehensive assistance in the return of the former adept of the totalitarian sect to the real environment and to a full life, free from the psychological nightmares of the pseudo-religious past, is the task not only of relatives and friends, but also of state bodies and society as a whole.

  • How long have you been a member of the group?

From the beginning, it's important to know who you're dealing with. The smaller the person is in the organization, the more truthful his answers, demand concrete answers to all your questions.

  • Do you want to recruit me to some organization?

Most often you will be told that he liked you and wanted to invite you to the event or share your information. Decide whether you will continue this conversation or politely and firmly ask to leave you alone.

  • Can you list the names of other organizations associated with your group?

Asking this question, you find out whether your interlocutor is connected with one of the totalitarian organizations. Almost all organizations of this kind create around themselves a number of covering (front) organizations not to frighten off potential members.

What is the founder or Supreme leader of your group?

Try to immediately get the most correct answer to your questions. You may not get an answer.

Tell us about the past head of the organization, about the education he received.

It is important to know whether the leader is who he claims to be.

  • What does your group believe? Does she believe the end justifies the means? Are there circumstances when a person is useful if he is deceived?

Most recruiters are unlikely to give you the teachings of the organization on the street. They consistently invite you to my place.

  • If I join your organization, how will I change my life? What will I have to sacrifice?

Most likely, you will be told that nobody and nothing from you will demand, you will continue a former way of life and even at once will reach to what aspired. In this case, allow yourself to Express doubt.

  • Do you consider the activities of your organization to be unquestionable? If someone is against your organization, what arguments do they bring?

This question will show you how informed your interlocutor is or how ready he is for an honest and open dialogue.

  • What do you think of the former members of our organization? Do you know the reasons why they left her? Are you allowed to communicate with people who have left the organization?

The reaction to this question can reveal a lot to you. None of the worthy organizations will prevent contacts with people who have left them. What cannot be said about destructive cults.

What are three things you don't like about your organization and its supreme leader?

Never and none of the sects is not recognized in it something does not suit. They are forbidden not only to speak, but also to make critical remarks about their organization and its leader.
